We envision a county in which every child is free from maltreatment and safely nurtured in a loving family; a community committed to the safety and well-being of children; and a county in which this commitment is demonstrated in all community organizations and in each family through actions that place the needs of children first.

· Home Visitation Programs— victims of abuse and/or domestic violence, and young pregnant/parenting mothers develop positive parenting skills and life skills that contribute to the stability of the family and the protection, health, and well-being of their children.

· Parent Support Groups—parents find peer support, reduce their social isolation, and acquire knowledge and decision-making that strengthens the family unit and promotes positive nurturing of children.

· Parenting Classes—parents, foster parents, relatives or others who care for children learn positive parenting techniques that help protect children and develop positive communication skills that reduces conflict and stress.

· Speakers Bureau—providing community education on child abuse and neglect issues, prevention, and training on identifying and reporting abuse….developing a community that helps Keep Kids Safe!

· Children’s Programs– promoting improved self-concept and positive interaction skills.

· Advocacy & Services to Victims of Abuse—advocacy, information and referral, assistance in applying for the SC Victim Compensation Fund.
